PURPLE RIBBON PITBULLS

PURPLE RIBBON PITBULLS

I get a lot of calls asking if I have "Purple Ribbon Pitbulls". Well you might wonder; what are Purple Ribbon Pitbulls? Purple Ribbon bred, means that all the dogs in the first three generations are UKC Registered. Now days, most all Pits that are bully bred that are UKC registered should be a Purple Ribbon Pitbull. The dog above, is Ms Heartbreaker. She is an excellent example of a Purple Ribbon bred Pitbull; Championship Quality.

ALL DOGS AT MR PITBULL ARE PURPLE RIBBON PITBULLS

In fact all of the Pitbulls at Mr Pitbull are Purple Ribbon bred. This is an indication that all 14 ancestors within the first three generations are in fact registered with the UKC. You might wonder how a registered dog wouldn't be Purple Ribbon registered? Sometimes certain dogs may have an ancestor in those first three generations that was not registered by the UKC, yet that ancestor was registered with another competing registry. The UKC recognize the validity of some other registries as be legitimate and transfers over the information of that dog to completed your papers.

IF YOU ARE A BREEDER THE REGISTRY WILL BE IMPORTANT

Today there are three main registries for Pitbulls. The UKC, The ADBA, and The ABKC. For standard traditional style pitbulls, both the UKC and the ADBA are most often used. Few if any bully bred Pitbulls are registered with ADBA. I do not, nor would not own a dog with ADBA papers, although for someone breeding traditional style Pits, the ADBA is an excellent choice. PURPLE RIBBON PUPPIES AT MR PITBULL

For Bully style Pitbulls you have two choices of registry; the UKC and the ABKC. Many Bully breeders register with both. The ABKC is a newer registry but yet is the dominant force for bully breeders. The ABKC sponsors all of the shows that a bully breeder would want to compete in. To compete in their shows, your dog must be registered with them. If you have a Purple Ribbon bred UKC dog, the ABKC will register your dog when supplied with proof of such registry. In this case you dog would be dual registered.
