Years ago there were a least two different fighting Pits that went by the name Gator. Both were bred numerous times in hope of producing another champion. Neither line is being actively bred today. In certain parts of the country backyard breeders who breed dogs of unknown origin like to refer to their dogs as a Gator Pitbull because it has a sound to it that causes people to bite. Then just like a fish, they are reeled in. In any event, it dogs like Bra'tac that folks are seeking these days. The question of what qualifies today as a Gator Pitbull is often a debated subject. In certain areas of the country, primarily in the South, The Gator line of Pitbull is highly favored. All a breeder has to do is suggest to a unaware buyer that his puppies or Pitbull is of the Gator line and the would be Gator Pitbull buyer is readily deceived, hook line and sinker. Just like a fish that can't resist a shinny lure, the thought of owning a real Gator Pitbull is to hard to resist. Yet the fact is, there is not a Gator Pitbull bloodline. Sadly we live in a world of "fake news". A lot of people trust that what they see advertised has to be true. Chances are the person advertising the dog or the puppies believes that the dog is a Gator Pitbull. At least that is what they were told when they acquired the dog. Yet ask someone to show you registration papers that identify the dog as a Gator Pitbull and they can't. GATOR PITBULL ATTACKS!


Again in this world of "fake news" it certainly would not surprise me in the least to see someone show you fake registration papers from a dubious source that suggest the dog or puppies is a Gator Pitbull. Regrettably, there are a number of fake registry companies that will supply you with papers saying just about anything you want. Often times people contact me wanting to breed their dog, and present me with papers that are obviously fake.
