| Meet Simba, she is a Watchdog and Razors Edge outcross I did with Bra'tac & Honey. Every dog in that litter was amazing. Simba resides in Florida where her owner trains her for various athletic competitions. For those that don't know; Watchdog is a PitBull bloodline that was very popular for many years. What is funny about pitbulls is that although many people want one to be a Watchdog as the name implies, yet in reality, they usually don't make a very good Watchdog. Not saying that some haven't had success training a PitBull to be a Watchdog, they just are not the preferred breed for a variety of reasons. In fact, when someone contacts me to purchase a dog as a Watchdog, I always advise against it. Although Simba looks like she would be an outstanding Watchdog, PitBulls are in all actually too friendly by nature and therefore are not the breed of choice. Additionally, because of the bad publicity that can result when someone without proper knowledge endeavors to train a PitBull to attack, and the dog is therefore ill trained; I just don't want any of my dogs put into that position. |
