I have seen a lot of breeders crossing their pits with bull dogs and the like, trying to shorten the nose. And although a lot of Bully bred dogs have shorter noses than the Pits of yesterday, as does Bartender, there is a limit that informed breeders will go. The nose on a dog is very important for cooling the dog down duriing work and hot days. A dog with too short of a nose will qucikly overheat.
