What many don’t know is that the muzzle is the dog’s first line of defense in cooling itself in hot weather. Sadly many breeders are going for short muzzles that are indicative of many bull dog breeds. These short muzzles make it next to impossible for the dog to cool itself and avoid heatstroke which is an increasing by-product of poor breeding. If you live in a hot climate, Such as in California or Texas make sure you don’t buy into the short muzzle fad. Too, Texas Pit Bull Breeders do well to take note too. If you have a hard time rapping your mind around this concept; call the airlines and ask what temperatures can they ship dogs in.
